How to Plan a Content Day: A Client’s Guide to Shooting at Our South London Studio

Booking a content day can feel like a lot to plan for, especially if it’s your first time working with a studio. To make the most of your time at The Style Strategist, here’s exactly how to prepare for a smooth, productive shoot at our South London studio.

Start with your shot list. Before you book, write down every look, product or scene you need captured, and roughly how long each will take. This is what lets us recommend the right package, whether that’s a quick two-hour session or a full content day.

Share references early. Moodboards, past campaigns, competitor shoots, anything that shows the look and feel you’re after helps our team prep styling, lighting and backdrops before you arrive, so no studio time is wasted figuring it out on the day.

Pack smart. Bring garments steamed or ready to go where possible, along with any props or products you want featured. Our Bermondsey studio has space to store and organise everything, but the less last-minute ironing, the more shooting time you get.

Build in breathing room. Even the tightest shot lists benefit from a buffer between looks, for outfit changes, backdrop swaps or just resetting the space. We build this into our shoot packages so the day doesn’t feel rushed.

Know what you’re walking away with. Talk to us in advance about turnaround time and how you plan to use the content, social, website, paid ads, so we can shoot with that end use in mind. A content day works best when it’s planned backwards from where the images need to land.

Ready to plan yours? Take a look at our shoot packages or get in touch and we’ll help you map out the right content day for your brand.
